Key Responsibilities
• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, delivering accurate and timely financial results.
• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, inventory-related entries, and allocations, ensuring general ledger accuracy.
• Perform monthly variance analysis and explain key performance drivers to management.
• Prepare, review, and maintain balance sheet reconciliations (bank, AR, AP, accrued liabilities, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, inventory).
• Investigate discrepancies, resolve reconciling items, and maintain detailed supporting schedules and documentation.
• Support accounts payable processes, including invoice coding, three-way match resolution, and vendor statement reconciliations.
• Ensure accurate expense classification, cutoff, and vendor setup documentation.
• Manage inventory accounting and partner with operations to reconcile balances, cycle counts, and adjustments.
• Track product and freight-related costs, including landed cost and freight allocations.
• Prepare audit schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation for annual audit readiness.
• Assist with sales and use tax compliance and related filings as needed.
• Recommend process improvements to enhance close efficiency, reporting accuracy, and workflow standardization.
• Participate in finance team initiatives, such as system enhancements, automation, and continuous improvement projects.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CPA eligibility preferred.
• 5–7+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in distribution, manufacturing, or food/CPG environments.
• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and month-end close best practices.
• Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems and advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, reconciliations).
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and cross-functional collaboration ability.
• Experience in privately held or entrepreneurial companies is a plus.

Compensation and Contract Details
