Overview:
Elevate your career with CHAGEE as a Senior Accountant to join our growing team. This role will be our first hire in accounting. The ideal candidate is someone who is eager to dive in, roll up their sleeves, and contribute to the success of our brand.
With over 4,500 stores across Malaysia, China, Singapore, and Thailand, and a staggering 100 million cups of tea served monthly, Chagee is now expanding to the US market. This is your chance to be part of an exhilarating journey as we deliver the taste of authentic tea culture to America.
What you'll do:
General Accounting:
• Set up and manage month-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations
• Support the implementation of new ERP system
Accounts Payable Management:
• Process vendor invoices accurately and efficiently, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures
• Prepare and perform payments to vendors, ensuring timeliness and accuracy
Expense Management:
• Review and process employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies
• Reconcile credit card statements and manage corporate card expenses
Process Building:
• Identify opportunities for process creation within the accounting function and contribute to the implementation of enhancements
• Set up and manage integrations for ADP (Automated Data Processing) and other relevant systems to streamline payroll and accounting processes
Payroll:
• Oversee payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations
• Address employee inquiries related to payroll and assist with resolving any issues
Quarterly Budgets:
• Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to develop quarterly budget proposals for leadership review and approval
• Ensure proposals align with company goals and objectives, providing insightful analysis and recommendations as needed
Experience you need to be successful:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• 5+ years of relevant experience in corporate accounting roles, preferably with 1-2 years of accounting experience in a startup environment
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
• Experience with payroll systems (e.g. ADP), procure-to-pay systems (e.g. Coupa), etc.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (Netsuite, Sage, Oracle, etc.)
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Self-starter, proactive problem solver with a willingness to grow
• Keen ability to navigate ambiguous situations with a way-maker mentality
• Fluency in Mandarin language preferred but not required
