Job Description
The Accountant will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring accuracy, and providing insightful financial information to support decision-making processes. This role involves preparing financial statements, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Ensure reports are accurate and completed in a timely manner.
• General Ledger Management: Maintain and update the general ledger, including recording financial transactions, balancing accounts, and preparing adjusting entries.
• Accounts Payable/Receivable: Process invoices, manage accounts payable and receivable, ensure timely payments and collections, and resolve any discrepancies.
• Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements with company records, investigate and resolve any discrepancies, and ensure accurate and up-to-date records.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, analyze financial performance, and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Compliance: Ensure adherence to accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and implement necessary changes.
• Audit Preparation: Prepare for internal and external audits, provide required documentation, and support auditors during the audit process.
• Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings or revenue enhancements.
• Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain organized and accurate financial records and documentation in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to provide financial insights and support, and participate in cross-functional projects as needed.
Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.
• Experience: 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a similar role or industry. Experience with financial software and accounting systems is a plus.
• Skills:
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
• Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to create and interpret complex spreadsheets.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
