Shift Details: Full-time – 40 hours/week
Compensation: $75,000-$85,000 annual salary
Location: Hybrid – In office 2 or more days/week – Edina, MN
About the job:
The Senior Accountant is primarily responsible for post-award grants accounting and invoicing, maintaining the general ledger. account reconciliations, audit deliverables, and accurate submission of various financial reports.
Essentials:
• Participate in executing the timely month end close process and related reporting to ensure accurate financial results, meaningful financial analysis, and the completion of all requirements within designated timelines.
• Prepare monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, including bank reconciliations and cash management activities, and trend analysis to ascertain accuracy, completeness, and appropriateness of account balances.
• Work with the Revenue Cycle Management team to record accounts receivable journal entries including revenue accruals, provider reductions and bad debt estimates using data from the company’s medical billing system.
• Prepare and submit grant invoices to funders according to funder requirements.
• Provide financial oversight for funds related to grant projects and monitor expenses for allowable uses of grant funds.
• Prepare documentation in support of audits and reviews by external organizations, including the year-end annual financial audit, and those of public and private funders.
• Review and research budget variances to help ensure the accuracy of financial reports.
• Participate in the preparation, analysis, and presentation of timely and accurate financial information to management and outside organizations.
• Perform ad hoc reporting and analyses.
• Contribute to the documentation and maintenance of accounting policies, procedures, and related controls.
• Prepare external reporting requirements, such as US Census reports and DHS cost reports, as needed.
• Maintain financial records in accordance with company policies and internal controls standards.
• Build internal and cross functional relationships necessary to achieve ongoing and transparent communication to ensure accuracy and success of the team and organization.
• Occasionally work extended hours as needed to meet established timelines for deliverables.

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5+ years related accounting experience
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong knowledge of finance, accounting (GAAP), and month end close principles and practices
• Strong time management, organizational and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, with emphasis on Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Team player with excellent communication skills, including the ability to develop and maintain positive and productive relationships both within and outside of the Finance department
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Positive attitude, good judgement, and strong sense of responsibility for and ownership over assigned duties and responsibilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive and confidential data and information
• Must be available to work onsite 2+ days per week
Preferred Qualifications:
• Related experience with Sage Intacct
• Related experience in a non-profit or medical provider environment
• Related experience with cost reimbursed grants accounting and reporting and associated private and public funders requirements
