We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our growing Accounting team. This position will report to our Senior Manager, Operational Accounting and will be located at our Plaquemines
The Senior Accountant will provide the day-to-day operations accounting support for our facilities and pipeline assets. The position requires the ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Responsibilities:
• Support all aspects of the operational accounting processes associated with the Company’s Plaquemines LNG facility and Gator Express Pipeline operations, including but not limited to, commodities and warehouse inventory, maintenance and operations cost reporting, and the safeguarding of the facility assets.
• Calculate, prepare, and record monthly accruals and correcting/adjusting entries in the SAP ERP system.
• Be the Accounting lead for the inventory safeguarding and cycle count processes.
• Be the onsite Accounting lead for capital projects and the associated fixed assets.
• Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual analytics.
• Prepare monthly account reconciliations to identify and resolve variances and submit related reconciliations in Blackline.
• Coordinate with the corporate accounting team to ensure all operational activity is recorded, reconciled, and reviewed in accordance with corporate accounting’s monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close and financial reporting timelines.
• Work closely with the FP&A team to support monthly operational results and KPI reporting, as well as ad hoc projects throughout the year.
• Liaise with internal controls and functional leads to support the build-out of new operational accounting processes and ensure proper internal controls are in place.
• Build and cultivate relationships with our onsite customers, such as the Warehouse, Maintenance, Engineering, Construction and Operations team members.
• Support new system implementations and existing system optimization efforts to automate processes and mitigate risk.
• Other duties as required and assigned.
Qualifications:
• 3+ years of experience in an accounting related role
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
• CPA designation a plus
• SAP and/or similar ERP experience a plus
• Previous operations and/or manufacturing experience a plus
• Ability to manage multiple priorities within tight deadlines
• General knowledge of construction project accounting, vocabulary, and work environment with a basic understanding of current industry trends.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to understand and interpret vendor agreements
• Strong understanding of internal control concepts and processes
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
