Foundations LLP is looking to fill the position for a senior accounting technician. We are an accounting and taxation firm located on the corner of Southland Drive and Macleod Trail SW and the C-Train station is walking distance. We offer our staff flexible hours, onsite heated parking and benefits. Qualified individuals must have a CPA designation and at least 5 years of recent experience in a PUBLIC PRACTICE ACCOUNTING OFFICE preparing both working papers and corporate tax returns. Employees are expected to work in our office approximately 1+50 hours a year. Remuneration will be determined based on qualifications and there is also a health spending account.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare Compilation and Review engagement working papers and financial information statements;
- Prepare Canadian corporate tax returns;
- Prepare Canadian personal tax returns;
- Various correspondence with Canada Revenue Agency regarding inquiries, limited review processes, post-assessments, audits, etc.;
- Preparation of T4, T4A, T5, T5018 and other slips;
- Prepare or review GST returns;
- Prepare Underused Housing Tax returns;
- Possible train of new staff and / or file reviews; and
- Assist partners as required.
Key Competencies:
- Proficient in CaseWare, Profile, QuickBooks, Sage50, Outlook, Word and Excel;
- Ability to prioritize, delegate and meet deadlines;
- Reliable and very minimal absenteeism ; and
- Excellent verbal and written communication in English.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $70,000.00-$+0,000.00 per year
