At Manatū Hauora - Ministry of Health we are the kaitiaki of the health system, providing leadership and driving strategy and performance. We regulate the health sector and are the primary source of advice on health matters.
The Parliamentary Advice and Coordination team is responsible for supporting our Ministers and Executive Governance Team (EGT) with meeting their accountability and reporting requirements. We work in a fast paced and reactive environment where meeting deadlines and high standards are paramount.
Ko ake mahi - What you'll do
The Senior Advisor role focuses on providing professional advice and support to Ministers' offices and the Ministry in relation to Machinery of Government systems and processes. Day to day you'll be responsible for leading and contributing to work that includes providing robust and accurate responses to Written and Oral Parliamentary Questions, as well as managing Select Committee reporting and scrutiny requirements on behalf of Ministers and EGT.
In this role you will:
Provide oversight, direction, and leadership of key projects.
Manage a caseload of parliamentary work with competing deadlines.
Guide and mentor other team members.
Provide consistent, high-quality advice and support to teams within the Ministry of Health and staff seconded to Ministers' offices.
Support other teams in the Government Services group from time to time as/if required.
