Job Description
We are looking for a senior research analyst with strong analytical and technical skills to strengthen our Natural gas liquids offering as part of Oil Market research team in Bangalore, India. The Oil Market team is responsible for Rystad Energy’s research offerings and analysis of the global oil market, including data collection and forecasts for upstream supply, demand, downstream activity, storage, oil trade flows and price formation using our bottom-up approach to data. We are seeking a talented and ambitious research analyst with outstanding analytical and technical skills. The successful candidate will need to contribute build a detailed bottom-up view on NGL supply and demand outlook globally with following responsibilities.
Responsibilities
Build a NGL supply forecast in collaboration with other teams (with support from E&P, Shale well and natural gas teams)
• Verification of reserves and mix of rich gas in fields and discoveries in UCube
• Verification of well and field production profiles C2-C5
• Capture NGL plant level info and research on natural gas plant liquids mix at plant level and corresponding upstream assets feeding into the NGL plant
• Implement Ethane rejection volumes at plant level
• Refinery LPG net supply contributions
• NGL production from any other sources of NGL (LNG plants)
Build a NGL demand forecast for different sector including but not limited to (with support from Downstream team)
• Petchem demand
• LPG for cooking, heating, residential, commercial, industrial
• Other uses of C2-C5+
• Benchmarking with other sources
Capture NGL Trade information ( with support from Services/Shipping team)
• Export and imports by country of Ethane, LPG, natural gasoline. History and Forecast
• Mileton and freight projections
• Storage, implied and researched
Build a markets outlook with
• Supply demand balance by product by country
• Price projections
Requirements
• 3 to 5 years’ experience tracking NGL markets for supply or demand in a research or consulting role
• Hands on with Excel, Python, Visualization tools (QlikView, Power BI)
• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or Chemical engineering
• Background in Refining/Petrochemical processes preferable
• Good command of spoken and written English and able to demonstrate good writing skills.
• Occasional travels for client visits and industry events
