Job Description
Location: Bentley, WA
Work Type: Full Time | Permanent opportunity | Work from home up to 2 days per week.
A role with remit to influence & advise.
Reporting to Architecture Manager (Technology & Digital Transformation)
Support from an internal team of 4 –5 Architects (no direct reports).
13.5% super. Option to purchase 2 weeks additional annual leave. Free parking & EV charging.
This is an architecture role with real influence
Wanting to do more than review designs and sign off on standards? Have you been craving a role where architecture genuinely changes how a business runs?
Thinking how great it would be to build enterprise capability that lasts or hasn’t been inherited as blueprints?
Could this be the next role you’ve been waiting for...?
We’re shifting to an enterprise mindset, and this role sits right in the middle of that transformation. You’ll work with senior leaders to lift business capability, set clearer direction, and make sure we’re investing in the right things (bench marked against industry / technology standards).
The work we’ll be asking you to lead and undertake is broad by design:
Some days you’ll be building enterprise capability and better ways of working.
Other days you’ll be the lead architect on major programs and system replacements.
What makes this role worth considering
We’re aware that Senior Architects are in demand – but you should know, this is one of those rare roles where you can shape the enterprise approach from the ground up, with strong executive backing for technology and AI.
Your chance to build something: influence our enterprise approach and leave something meaningful behind.
Enterprise influence: you get to work closely with senior business leaders.
Big programs, real impact: lead architecture on major initiatives that deliver smarter automation and clearer governance.
AI / automation with purpose: explore practical ways to embed AI into business processes (not just prototypes).
Learn from a leader who’s seen it all: with more than 30 years of architecture experience across sectors (mining, education, governance, Telco, oil & gas), Bernard is eager to share his knowledge.
You will have support from a capable architecture group: BPM, integration, data & AI, applications, digital product delivery teams.
Your impact in role, if you choose to join us
You’ll be trusted to operate at enterprise level. Setting direction, guiding teams and ensuring delivery.
Be a Leading Solution Architect: strategic transformation programs, delivering sound architectural solutions aligned with business & IT strategy.
Set direction: translate strategy into clear business, application, information and integration architecture (standards, patterns, target states and road maps).
Run architecture impact assessments and gap analysis: smarter sequencing and investment decisions.
Strengthen governance and quality: clear, consistent and defensible decisions across delivery.
Build organisation maturity: develop enterprise-wide maturity using capability maps, artefacts and improvement plans.
Be a trusted advisor: help leaders land change in a practical, workable way.
What you’ll need to bring
Senior level and proven experience in business capability uplift and transformation.
Proven track record of leading architecture that delivers real project transformation outcomes (not just documentation).
TOGAF Foundations / Practitioner certification.
Proficiency in enterprise architecture tooling and artefacts — including Orbus Infinity.
Energy / Utilities or similar regulated industry experience.
This role would be well suited if you enjoy complexity, asking the hard questions, and bringing senior stakeholders on the journey.
You’ll need confidence and charisma to challenge, influence and steer.
