Job Description
KPMG is seeking a Senior Associate to enhance our Trade and Customs practice.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide expert advice to clients across various industries on export compliance matters.
• Lead client projects including export classifications, audits, reviews, program development, and training.
• Contribute to market development and thought leadership initiatives, including writing articles.
• Research, draft, and review compliance advice specifically in the area of export regulations.
• Support the management and professional development of team members.
• Offer substantial guidance to associates and review their work.
Qualifications:
• At least three years of direct experience in export compliance (e.g., EAR and ITAR), including deemed exports, classification of complex products, licenses, technology control plans, and development of compliance programs as an attorney, consultant, or government official.
• Bachelor's degree, J.D., LL.M. in taxation, and/or Master's in Taxation (MST) from an accredited institution.
• Advanced knowledge of U.S. export control regulations with the capability to deliver practical solutions to complex issues.
• Experience in export control compliance audits, voluntary disclosures, and developing comprehensive trade compliance frameworks.
• Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills; proficiency in data analytics preferred.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
• Preferred certifications: LCB or CUSECO.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based sponsorship.
KPMG LLP will follow all regulations regarding salary disclosure. The California salary range for this position is $66,300 to $136,500. KPMG offers a comprehensive benefits package to support you and your family.
