We are a well-established and growing accountancy practice, dedicated to providing a high standard of service to a diverse portfolio of clients across various sectors. As we continue to expand, we’re looking for a Senior Bookkeeper to join our friendly and experienced team.
The Role
This is a key position within our practice, suited to an experienced and proactive bookkeeper who can take ownership of their workload and provide high-quality service to our clients.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients across different industries
Processing sales and purchase invoices, bank reconciliations, and journals
Preparing VAT returns and ensuring timely submission
Liaising directly with clients to request and clarify information
Supporting the preparation of management accounts
Assisting with onboarding of new clients and advising on bookkeeping systems (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks, Sage)
Providing guidance to junior team members as needed
What We're Looking For
Essential skills and experience:
Minimum 4 years’ experience in a bookkeeping role, preferably within a practice
Strong knowledge of cloud-based accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage etc.)
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
Confident communicator with strong client service ethos
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently
Desirable:
Experience with Dext, Hubdoc or similar data capture tools
Familiarity with construction industry bookkeeping (CIS) or other niche sectors
