Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Client Accounting Services (CAS) Accountant to join our growing Client Accounting Services practice. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys owning client relationships, delivering high-quality financial reporting, and mentoring junior team members in a public accounting environment.
The Senior CAS Accountant will manage a portfolio of clients, oversee month-end and year-end close activities, and serve as a trusted advisor to clients across a variety of industries. Can work from our NYO or our Jericho office.
Key Responsibilities
• Serve as the primary day-to-day point of contact for assigned CAS clients
• Manage and oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
• Review and finalize financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules prepared by staff
• Address more complex accounting matters, including accruals, revenue recognition, and multi-entity accounting
• Prepare audit-ready schedules and coordinate with audit and tax teams as needed
• Analyze financial results and explain trends and variances to clients
• Assist clients with budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow analysis
• Identify and recommend process improvements and efficiencies
• Train, mentor, and provide feedback to Staff and Experienced Accountants
• Support accounting system implementations, clean-ups, and conversions
• Ensure consistent documentation, controls, and adherence to firm standards
Required Qualifications
• Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
• 58 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in public accounting or outsourced accounting services
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting
• Prior experience reviewing staff work and managing deadlines
• Proficiency with accounting systems such as QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Xero, or similar platforms
• Strong communication and client-service skills
• CPA preferred or actively pursuing
