We’re seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Commercial Analyst for Ageing to join our team in Senior Services on a permanent full-time basis.
About the Role
Full-time Permanent (38 hours per week)
Hybrid work model: 3 days in the office Parramatta/Sydney CBD, 2 days work from home
Base salary + salary packaging benefits up to $18,550 (pay less tax) + 12% superannuation
The Senior Commercial Analyst (Ageing) is responsible for applying advanced financial modelling and data analytics to deliver accurate forecasts, insightful analysis, and comprehensive reporting that support timely, informed, and effective business decisions. The role also involves building strong strategic relationships with key stakeholders and influencing positive outcomes across the organisation to support the transformation of aged care services across NSW & ACT.
Key responsibilities:
Oversee and review financial reporting produced by Commercial Analysts across the Seniors portfolio.
Guide and support Team to build the business forecast and budget into Adaptive.
Ensure accuracy in reporting via Power BI and other tools
Enhance medium-term forecasting aligned with strategy and market trends
Generate insights from data analysis to improve financial and operational performance
Automate and manage large data sets (e.g. macros, Power Pivot)
Create dashboards using Power BI and other data visualisation tools
Build advanced financial models including 3-way rolling forecasts and valuations
Prepare clear, impactful communication and reporting materials
Build strong, strategic relationships across key internal teams (Head Of Operations and Support Leads)
Mentor, develop, and create growth opportunities for direct reports
Financial Reporting & Analysis
Oversee and review financial reports by Commercial Analysts.
Ensure accurate forecasting and budgeting in Adaptive and Power BI.
Develop insights and recommendations to enhance performance.
Build and manage advanced financial models (3-way models, valuation).
Drive improvements in forecast reporting aligned with strategy and trends.
Data & Systems
Manipulate and analyse large datasets using automation tools (e.g. macros, Power Pivot).
Develop dashboards and visual reporting tools (Power BI).
Identify and implement process improvements for financial systems and operations.
Operational & Strategic Planning
Lead month-end, budgeting, and rolling forecast processes.
Support Board and Executive reporting requirements with financial analysis.
Evaluate business cases and tenders, ensuring compliance with regulations.
Provide strategic insights and challenge assumptions where needed.
Stakeholder Engagement
Build strong relationships across departments and become a trusted financial advisor.
Influence and educate senior stakeholders on financial matters.
Deliver financial coaching and support informed decision-making.
Leadership & Development
Lead, coach, and develop team members.
Promote knowledge sharing and manage team performance.
Uphold and model company values and Code of Conduct.
Qualifications:
Tertiary qualification in Accounting/Finance.
Current membership to the Australia Society of Certified Practicing Accountants (CPA), Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia (ICAA) or Chief Financial Analyst (CFA) institute
Experience:
Minimum 3 years of experience in a senior finance analyst or senior commercial/business analyst role, supporting a business segment with non-financial stakeholders.
Experience in the Health and Aged Care or Not-for-profit sectors.
Excellent communication skills.
Demonstrated experience in producing accurate and timely management reports in a medium to large-scale organisation.
Demonstrated experience in managing large volumes of data, drawing key insights and providing clear conclusions/recommendations.
Skilled in data analysis, financial modelling (P&L, Cash Flow, Balance Sheet), and drawing actionable insights
Demonstrated experience in developing dashboard reporting and effective PowerPoint presentations and Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Demonstrated experience in developing strategic relationships with senior stakeholders that have led to positive outcomes.
Proven experience with coaching and developing team members.
Highly productive, with the ability and interest to learn new concepts.
