Role Description:

As the Senior Communications Specialist, you will be responsible for keeping our people informed, connected and aligned to what matters most, turning complex priorities into clear, practical and engaging communication that supports delivery. We currently have a 10 month fixed term parental leave contract opportunity available, however, we are also interested in engaging with talent open to permanent roles for future opportunities.

Core Duties:

Editorial and channel ownership including owning the end-to-end delivery of the Weekly News eDM, managing stakeholder submissions, story curation, writing, layout, production and analytics
Campaign and project management including leading the production of the internal magazine, coordinating input from contributors, ensuring alignment with enterprise priorities and editorial quality
Microsoft 365 change communications including acting as the communications lead for Microsoft 365 adoption, translating technical updates into simple, human-centred messages and tips
Creative content and brand experience including designing and delivering branded visual assets that elevate the employee experience and maintain visual consistency
Leadership support including supporting the Executive and stakeholders and key leaders with content development and storytelling advice, including drafting talking points, scripts, and summaries for internal use
Measurement & Improvement including tracking engagement metrics across core channels and prepares insights to guide future planning
About You

Tertiary qualification in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Proven ability to contribute positively to the team, supporting others, sharing knowledge and building a collaborative, high-performing environment
Brings proven experience in internal communications, including channel management, campaign delivery and executive-level content
Demonstrated experience in within a complex, fast-paced organisation
Self-aware and proactive, requiring minimal direction while keeping stakeholders informed and aligned
Strong stakeholder management experience, including working with senior leaders and diverse business areas
Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, engaging content
Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to deadlines
Demonstrates strong alignment to BAE Systems’ values and behaviours, operating with integrity and sound judgement
