Job Description
At GXO Logistics, Database Administrators are responsible for the management and maintenance of company databases. Their Duties include maintaining adherences to a data management policy and to provide L1 and L2 DBA support.
What you’ll do on a typical day:
Installing and upgrading the database server and application tools .
Allocating system storage and planning storage requirements for the database system
Enroll and monitor user access to the database.
Monitoring and optimizing the performance of the database.
DB creation, backup and Restoration of Database.
Contacting database vendor for technical support
Managing and monitoring data replication .
General understanding of storage technologies and networking.
Oracle Server - Database Objects creations/modifications per product/developer requirements.
It’d be great if you have:
Primary Skills (Must Have):
Able to guide the developer with best practices and query/plan optimizing .
Concepts of Oracle Server Query Optimizer and Oracle server profiler
Standby/Failover Administration .
MS SQL Server – Architecture ,MSDTC, Availability Groups, Clustering , Master/Slave concepts .
Secondary Skills(Good to Have):
Experience on database deployment applications/tools .
System aspects for the SQL server.
Experience on Database Performance Analyzer tools
Experience on SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT)
DBA level professional certification from Product Vendors (like Microsoft).
