Position Summary
The Senior Oracle DBA is responsible for working within a technical team of professionals providing IT services to remotely-located clients.
Responsibilities
• Monitoring and assessing client system behaviour and status, identifying, planning and implementing improvements
• Ensure the availability and performance of databases supported by the team
• Ensure services are secure with minimal downtime
• Provide proactive monitoring of database system
• Provide customer health checks as required
• Take on New Technologies as the Company requires
• Be a Techical Escalation point for more Junior members of the team.
• Drive Automation and application of Standards to reduce the volume of incidents
Experience
Requirements
Essential
• 8-10 years plus experience in Enterprise level Oracle Database Administration
• Proven track record providing production support including monitoring and tuning
• Experience in supporting, installing, upgrading and patching of all Oracle Versions to 1+c
• Excellent interpersonal skills (team player, communication, well-organized, etc.)
• Expertise in interfacing with Customer on regular basis
