Description
: As a Lead Database Administrator with QUALCOMM's IT department, you will provide support, team vision and direction in the appropriate application of database techniques to meet corporate information requirements. Working with other database administration staff, you will support, consult, advise and assist in the performance of technical activities.
Responsibilities include:
-Install, configure and upgrade Oracle server software and related products in a UNIX environment.
-Knowledge have hands on experience in any other databases like Postgres, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis
-Having hands on knowledge in Cloud database support (AWS/Azure)
-Design, create, maintain and insure recoverability of databases in a UNIX environment.
-Responsible for 7x24 support and oncall support for production databases. Work in rotational shifts with weekend oncall rotation
-Allocate systems storage and develop plans for future storage requirements.(Capacity planning)
-Establish effective database performance monitoring procedures.
-Control and monitor user access to databases and maintain database security
-Provide reliable, recoverable and scalable database computing environments to store and integrate company data.
-Set up and maintain documentation and standards.
-Experience in upgrades/patching and managing vendor support
-Expert skills in Oracle database backup and recovery
-Experience in design and implementation of highly available, scalable Oracle database solutions
-Experience with database replication technologies (Data Guard/Standby, MView, Advanced Replication, and Streams)
-Experience utilizing Oracle Enterprise Manager/Prometheus for monitoring and management
-Experience managing large sized databases and migration experience
-Knowledge of networking and enterprise systems architecture.
-Must be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously, meet project deadlines, and work under pressure.
-Excellent communication, customer service and people skills.
-Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers, staff and employees.
-Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
-Ability to manage/lead projects
-Strong Team work capabilities - during problem/crisis situations.
'Bachelor's degree and 5-7 years of IT-relevant work experience
5+ Years of Database Administration (Oracle/MySQL/Postgres)
2+ Year of working knowledge in NoSQL databases (MongoDB/Elasticsearch/Cassandra)
2+ Year of working experience in handling databases in Cloud (Azure/AWS)
' Oracle Database Admnistration
' Preffered to have multiple database technology knowledge
' NoSQL experience and knowledge
Minimum Qualifications:
• 3+ years of IT-related work experience with a Bachelor's degree.
OR
5+ years of IT-related work experience without a Bachelor's degree.
