Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a technical field required with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in database administration and management (e.g., SQL, NoSQL)
Strong understanding of data architecture principles and best practices required

Responsibilities
Improves the overall health of the communities we serve by providing superior customer service and advanced technical support to ensure quality patient care and user satisfaction as follows:
Oversees the design, deployment, and maintenance of database servers
Performs database administration tasks, such as backups, patching, restoration, and data integrity checks
Collaborates with cross-functional teams to design and implement data architecture solutions that meet business requirements
Ensures data architecture scalability and flexibility for future growth
Optimizes database performance, query efficiency, and indexing strategies
Manages and maintains virtualized environments to support data infrastructure
Develops, orchestrates, and leads database migration strategy to the cloud (e.g., AWS, Azure)
Provides proactive monitoring, automation and alerting systems for database and infrastructure health
Implements security best practices to safeguard sensitive data and to ensure compliance with data protection regulations and industry standards
Creates and maintains comprehensive documentation for database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides
Works closely with data engineers, data scientists, and other teams to support their data-related requirements
Performs other duties as assigned, including supporting the CHAS Health Mission and Core Values
Communicating occurs constantly throughout the day
Lifting occurs about half the time up to 10 lbs
and less than one-third of the day from 25-40 lbs

Purpose of Job

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a technical field required with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in database administration and management (e.g., SQL, NoSQL). Strong understanding of data architecture principles and best practices required. Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Nutanix) required. Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure preferred. Experience with health information technologies, HIPAA, and security methodologies preferred.

Preferred experience includes: Microsoft training and certification; experience programming OLAP with MDX; as well as knowledge of SQL Server 201+ and Microsoft Azure. Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator) are a plus as well as scripting and automation skills.

Excellent logical and problem-solving abilities, verbal and written communication skills required. Ability to work independently in a self-directed environment, contribute to a team, maintain a positive attitude, demonstrate very high attention to detail, and a commitment to quality while working in a high availability environment is required.
