Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Database Administrator (DBA) proficient in both MySQL and PostgreSQL to join our team. As a Senior DBA, you will be responsible for ensuring the performance, availability, and security of our organization's database systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain database solutions that meet our business needs. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of database administration best practices.
Responsibilities:
• Design, implement, and maintain MySQL and PostgreSQL database systems.
• Monitor and optimize database performance, identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks and tuning queries for maximum efficiency.
• Ensure high availability and reliability of database systems through backups, replication, clustering, and failover mechanisms.
• Develop and enforce database security policies, including user access control, data encryption, and vulnerability assessments.
• Perform database capacity planning and scalability assessments to support business growth.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, including database errors, connectivity problems, and data corruption.
• Collaborate with software developers and infrastructure teams to support application deployments and ensure compatibility with database systems.
• Implement database upgrades and patches, following proper change management procedures.
• Conduct periodic database performance assessments and make recommendations for improvement.
• Document database configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements in database technologies, and evaluate their applicability to our environment.
