Responsibilities:
• Support with experience in monitoring, administration and operations management in AWS/Azure/GCP /OCI environment
• Responsible for supporting production databases daily operations which includes Availability, Capacity management, Monitoring and Alerting, performance tuning and troubleshooting, backup and restoration
• Perform day-to-day administration including monitoring, patching, issue resolution, systems administration tasks, user management, access management, system maintenance
• Responsible for Database hygiene, Process improvement, Standardizations, Major Incident management, automation and SRE responsibilities
• Ready to work in non-standard work shifts (day/afternoon/night) and holidays to provide 24x7 support
• Follow modern Incident, Problem and Change management practices as per ITIL standards to troubleshoot database related operational issues
• Identifies and proactively resolves issues that could impact system performance, reliability, and usability
• Respond in a timely and effective manner to production downtime, performance or other issues that impact our customers and business
• Monitor, track and communicate the status of incident resolution
• Perform escalations including callouts to senior support teams, vendors, application owners
• Contribute to knowledge base / standard process library with feedback and updates as needed
• Collaborate with infrastructure and technology partners, and external service providers
• Provide guidance in techniques and help to establish best operational practices and standards
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities
• Creative, innovative thinking, intellectual curiosity
• Takes ownership and follows through on tasks; drives decisions; results-oriented
• Desire to mentor younger team members and develop their skills
Requirements:
• 4+ years of solid RDBMS experience in Oracle or PostgreSQL with HR & HA data recovery strategy in Cloud Platform & 3+ years of engineering experience required.
• Experience with Database Security and Vulnerability management
• 1+ years of Experience in Open source DBs like PostgreSQL, MySQL, OR MongoDB
• 1+ years of experience with core AWS platform architecture.
• Candidate must have strong experience with multiple AWS services: AWS DMS, Lambda, AWS RDS AWS KMS, Secrets management, S3 CloudFormation, SSM, Service Catalogs, Config, Code Pipeline, etc for AWS.
• Experience in operation support, preventive maintenance and administration of database including: PostgreSQL, MS SQL Database, Azure SQL Database, Cosmos DB, AWS RDS etc.
• Preferable Certification in Azure Database Administrator, AWS Certified Database Specialty
• Experience in handling modern digital operations with an organization ensuring 24x7 reliability of its production databases
• Proven background and experience on Database management and administration on multi Cloud Technologies (AWS, Google, Azure, OCI) IaaS/PaaS Database
