You will be working in Bangalore office. The Infrastructure and Operations team is in Bangalore as well, where you will belong. Required Experience in:
• At least 15 years’ experience of Oracle (Mandatory), MongoDB, Postgres, InfluxDB (on the most recent versions) on RedHat Enterprise Linux.
• Expert Level - Database infrastructure build and setup experience for HA, DR scenarios, recovery
• Expert level - Database Automation implementation experience using Ansible, CI/CD pipelines, cloning, refresh etc.
• Expert level - Installation, upgrades and patching of RDBMS, OCI/Instant/thin client
• Expert level - RAC installation, configuration and support
• Expert level - PL/SQL and SQL diagnostics and tuning
• Expert level - Backup and recovery techniques Inc. RMAN
• Expert level - DataGuard configuration and maintenance (Inc. broker)
• Expert level - Database hardware tuning
• Expert level – GoldenGate
• Enterprise Manager Grid Control configuration and maintenance 13c
• Advanced Security/TDE
• Database Security and Compliance experience
• Database Load testing Benchmarking experience
• Database Performance Observability experience via different platforms, AWR etc.
• Strong Scripting experience using shell, perl, python etc.
Desired Skills:
• Deliver challenging technical engineering projects seamlessly
• Deliver clear and accurate communication during all incidents to various technical teams and incident management
• Be a mentor to the team
• Drive improvements to ensure that lessons are learnt from incidents and that any work required to prevent a future reoccurrence.
• Ability to lead technical conversations with various technical support groups
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Calm under pressure through demanding challenges.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to follow processes and procedures

• Acting as the final escalation point for the team
• Management of other vendors and partners that may need to be engaged
• Effective trouble shooting and analytical skills and ability to manage complex and technical projects.
• Experience of data analysis and trending with ability to identify improvements and actions

• Data Warehousing skills
• Strong RedHat Enterprise Linux skills
• AI and ML algorithm implementation experience for Anomaly detetction and Predictions
• Oracle Business Intelligence 12c / ESSBASE experience
• Cloud database administration experience
What you'll do:
You'll be joining a small, close-knit team of DBAs working closely with the rest of infrastructure teams delivering the right database solution to support IG's primary dealing platform and a wider development community delivering the key products for IG's business. We're looking for somebody who is excited to work with large scale low latency high-frequency data systems. The team is currently expanding in Bangalore, to deal with higher workloads, projects and engineering. Your primary focus will be to deliver key engineering projects to reduce operational workloads and experiment with newer technologies (not limited to database) where possible to get ahead of the curve for issues and resolutions. You will work on shifts focused on APAC and EMEA regions and have some overlapping working hours with the UK business hours for support and maintenance activities. You will be part of on-call support on a rota basis.
