We are seeking to hire an experienced Emergency Technician for our Clients as the first responder for water/fire related emergencies. Are you energetic and outgoing with a positive attitude? The Senior Emergency/Demolition Technician is a highly skilled, experienced, and dedicated professional responsible for the immediate and effective response to property damage emergencies (water, fire, mold, storm, etc.). This role requires technical expertise in advanced demolition, mitigation, cleaning, and drying procedures. The Senior Technician often acts as a site lead, mentoring junior team members, ensuring projects adhere to scope and safety regulations, and maintaining high standards of customer communication and service.

Emergency Response & Mitigation

· 24/7 Response: Respond promptly and effectively to after-hours emergency calls on a rotating schedule to secure and mitigate damaged residential and commercial properties.
· Damage Assessment: Conduct detailed initial on-site assessments, moisture readings, and scope-of-work documentation for water, fire, smoke, and mold losses.
· Water Extraction & Drying: Execute advanced water extraction, moisture mapping, and structural drying protocols (IICRC S-500 standards), including calculating and setting up appropriate equipment (air movers, dehumidifiers, specialty drying tools).
· Fire/Smoke Cleanup: Perform thorough cleaning, soot removal, sanitization, and deodorization of affected structures and contents.
Demolition & Remediation
· Controlled Demolition: Safely perform selective, controlled demolition of damaged building materials (e.g., drywall, flooring, ceilings, cabinetry) while protecting adjacent unaffected areas.
· Hazardous Material: Assist with or lead projects involving biohazard, mold, or asbestos-containing materials (if certified), strictly following all containment and removal protocols.
· Debris Removal: Efficiently manage the sorting, loading, and disposal of construction debris and waste materials.
Leadership & Project Support

· Site Supervision: Act as a working site lead, overseeing and directing the daily tasks of 1-3 Junior Technicians or crew members on specific jobs.
· Quality Control: Ensure all work is performed to company, industry (IICRC), and regulatory standards, completing projects on time and within budget/scope.
· Documentation: Maintain meticulous records, including detailed job logs, photos, moisture readings, equipment placement/tracking, and scope changes for project managers and insurance purposes.
· Customer Service: Serve as a professional, empathetic point of contact for clients and homeowners, explaining the work process and providing updates.
Job Requirements:

Must have a Valid Alberta Drivers license, a clear 3-year Driver’s Abstract and a clear Criminal Record Check.
IICRC Certifications in water and fire/smoke mitigation preferred but willing to train.
Experience: 3+ years of progressive, hands-on experience in the property damage restoration and demolition industry.
Certifications (Preferred/Required): Current IICRC Water Damage Restoration Technician (WRT) required. Additional certifications (e.g., Fire & Smoke Restoration Technician FSRT, Applied Microbial Remediation Technician AMRT, OSHA 10/30) are highly desirable.
Equipment Proficiency: Expert-level ability to set up, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot specialized restoration and demolition equipment.
Proficient in English both verbal and written

· Leadership & Mentorship: Proven ability to lead by example, train junior staff, and foster a positive, safety-focused team environment.
· Problem-Solving: Strong critical thinking skills to adapt quickly to unexpected site conditions and solve logistical challenges.
· Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear internal reporting and professional client interaction.
· Physical Stamina: Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly, climb ladders, and work for extended periods in demanding environments (e.g., hot, cold, damp, confined spaces) while wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
