Roles and Responsibilities
• Liaising closely with sales, buying and production teams on an ongoing basis to ensure the item suits the customer, market and price points.
• Checking a pattern that is cut and sewn into sample garments and mass production.
• Establishing best in class design and merchandising process across denim product category
• Responsible for selection of fabric, trims, styles and other accessories including packaging for development sample
• Considering the technical guidelines form various departments while selecting the style, fabric and other trims for the better feasibility of product in bulk production
• To Create/visualize an idea and producing a design by hand sketch or using computer-based software.
• Working with others in the design team, product development and forecasters, to develop products to meet a brief.
• To keep up to date with emerging and upcoming fashion trends, competition as well as general trends relating to fabrics, colours etc.
Desired Candidate Profile
• Minimum experience of 8-10 years in design of menswear (casual or denim category)
• A fashion graduate/postgraduate from NIFT.
