Job Description
About Us
Atkinsons Bullion is one of the UK’s leading online bullion retailers. Our in-house tech team ensures a secure, seamless, and high-performance experience for our customers. We operate in a high-trust industry where uptime, data integrity, and security are critical. With a compact, agile development team, every technical decision has a visible business impact.
About the Role
We’re looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to take ownership of our Azure infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and overall platform reliability. You’ll work alongside our CTO and Lead Architect Developer, helping ensure our systems are secure, scalable, and online — always.
While occasional development support (C#, JavaScript) is welcome, this is primarily an infrastructure-first role. The right candidate will bring DevOps discipline, a security mindset, and a drive for achieving maximum uptime.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Lead the management and improvement of our Azure-based infrastructure: Web Apps, SQL databases, Azure Functions, etc.
• Own our CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps
• Maintain and improve our Terraform-based infrastructure as code setup
• Drive best practices for monitoring, logging, and alerting to ensure high availability
• Continuously audit and harden security across our cloud footprint
• Stay proactive about system upgrades, failover planning, and performance tuning
• Support the team with development contributions where needed
• Join the on-call rota after onboarding to ensure availability support
Tech Stack
Cloud & Infra: Azure (Web Apps, SQL, Azure Functions, Application Insights)
DevOps Tools: Azure DevOps, Terraform
Languages (for development): C#, JavaScript
Other: Docker, Kentico, Vue.js
What We’re Looking For
• 4+ years of experience in DevOps, with deep Azure expertise
• Proven experience managing secure, high-availability environments
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD practices and infrastructure automation
• Solid Terraform experience and infrastructure-as-code mindset
• Comfortable with incident response, monitoring, and root cause analysis
• Bonus: ability to assist with development in C# or JavaScript when needed
• Proactive mindset with a strong sense of ownership
Our Values
We value honesty, integrity, reliability, and a desire to be the best at what we do. You’ll be trusted to work independently and take the lead on infrastructure decisions, with support always available from a hands-on CTO and Lead Developer.
