Role Overview:
The Purchase cum Store Executive plays a pivotal role in managing both the procurement activities and the inventory control within the organization. The ideal candidate should possess a blend of purchasing expertise along with strong organizational skills to ensure seamless operations in the purchase and store functions.
Responsibilities:
1. Procurement & Vendor development:
- Source, negotiate, and purchase materials, components, equipment, and services necessary for the organization's operations.
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of quality goods at competitive prices.
- Evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery speed.
- Responsible for vendor sourcing & development activities.
- Responsible for development of. machining, moulding, electronics components, packaging material.
2. Inventory Control:
- Oversee and manage inventory levels to ensure adequate stock availability for production and operational needs.
- Implement inventory control measures to minimize stock discrepancies, spoilage, and obsolescence.
- Conduct regular stock audits and reconciliation to maintain accuracy in inventory records.
3. Documentation and Compliance:
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures as well as relevant regulations in procurement and inventory management.
- Prepare and maintain purchase orders, invoices, and other procurement-related documentation.
4. Coordination and Communication:
- Collaborate with internal departments such as production, finance, and quality assurance to understand their procurement requirements and ensure timely fulfillment.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers regarding order status, delivery schedules, and any other relevant information.
- Coordinate with logistics providers to arrange for the transportation of goods as needed.
5. Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and efficiency enhancements in procurement and inventory management.
- Implement best practices and initiatives to optimize purchasing processes and streamline inventory control procedures.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or relevant field.
- 1-3 years of experience in procurement, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering industry.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain vendor relationships.
- Proficient in inventory management techniques and software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations governing procurement and inventory management.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience of ISO+001-2015 & IATF16+4+ documentation desirable,
