Job Description : Deputy Fashion Designer

Job Responsibilities :
• Conceptualize and develop full collections for Indian wear, including sarees, lehengas, kurtas, anarkalis, and fusion pieces based on market trends and brand vision.
• Create detailed sketches, tech packs, and prototypes, specifying fabrics, trims, prints, and embroidery suitable for Indian textiles like silk, chiffon, georgette, and brocades.
• Research seasonal trends, colors, motifs, and techniques in Indian fashion while incorporating global influences for fusion designs.
• Collaborate with production, embroidery, and print teams to ensure designs translate accurately from sketch to final garment.
• Manage design timelines, conduct fit sessions, and iterate based on feedback to meet quality and delivery standards.
• Maintain a design archive, including mood boards, swatches, and documentation for future references and trend forecasting.
Requirements :
• Graduate from a reputed fashion / design college (e.g., NIFT, NID, Pearl Academy, or equivalent).
• 2-4 years of hands-on experience in Indian wear design, preferably with established brands or boutiques specializing in ethnic apparel.
• Strong portfolio showcasing complete collections, sketches, and executed garments in traditional and contemporary Indian styles.
• Proficiency in design software (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop Procreate) alongside basic hand-sketching skills is a plus.
• In-depth knowledge of Indian fabrics, embroidery techniques (zari, gota, aari), prints (block, digital), and regional crafts.
• Proven ability to balance creativity with commercial viability, including sizing, grading, and cost optimization.
• Excellent communication skills for cross-team collaboration and vendor coordination.
