Job description
As a Senior Fashion Designer at Sulakshana Monga, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our brand and contributing to our legacy of excellence. Working closely with our creative team and under the guidance of the Creative Director, you will bring your exceptional design talent, creative vision, and industry expertise to create breathtaking collections that epitomize luxury and sophistication.
Key Responsibilities:
Conceptualization and Design: Lead the conceptualization, development, and execution of seasonal collections, ensuring alignment with the brand's aesthetic, vision, and market positioning.
Research and Inspiration: Stay abreast of emerging fashion trends, historical references, and cultural influences to inspire innovative design concepts and storytelling.
Sketching and Prototyping: Translate creative concepts into detailed sketches and technical drawings, overseeing the creation of prototypes and samples to bring designs to life.
Fabric Selection and Material Sourcing: Collaborate with the sourcing team to select premium fabrics, embellishments, and materials that reflect the brand's commitment to quality and luxury.
Pattern Making and Garment Construction: Work closely with pattern makers and garment technicians to ensure precise execution of designs, overseeing fittings and adjustments as needed.
Team Collaboration: Foster a collaborative and supportive environment within the design team, mentoring junior designers and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless coordination throughout the design process.
Quality Control: Maintain rigorous quality standards throughout the design process, conducting thorough inspections and overseeing final fittings to ensure impeccable craftsmanship and attention to detail.
Market Analysis and Trend Forecasting: Analyze market trends, consumer preferences, and competitive landscape to inform design decisions and identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications preferred.
10 years of experience in a senior design role within the luxury fashion industry, with a strong portfolio showcasing exceptional design talent and creativity.
Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite and CAD programs.
In-depth knowledge of garment construction techniques, textiles, and embellishments.
Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills, with the ability to lead a team and collaborate effectively across departments.
A passion for luxury fashion, artistry, and craftsmanship, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to excellence.
