Accounting activities
Understanding of accounting concepts associated with accruals, deferrals, capitalization, overall recognition of expenses and AP process
Perform accounts payable operations and prioritize activities to meet departmental and organizational deadlines.
Accurately enter invoices into the system, including verification of coding and approvals including book keeping by cost center
Process employee expense reports, including review of receipts, confirmation of correct coding, and verification of compliance with company policy.
Perform AP related close activities including invoice and PO accruals / tracking, coding of prepaids, journal entries and account reconciliation
Coordinate and meet with other departments to ensure expenses are recorded in the proper accounting periods and with proper accounting treatment.
Review invoices / employee reimbursement for appropriate documentation prior to payment as per the company policy
Obtain proper information and/or data regarding invoice payments
Check vendor files for any previous payments and assign voucher numbers
Maintain vendor invoice and employee reimbursement tracker
Meet all SLAs related to vendor creation and modification
Maintain meticulous records of outstanding payables
Should be familiar with bank payment upload process
Accurately maintain the payment records into the books of accounts
Following up on advances made to employees to close the advances issued.
Execute bank account reconciliation
Exercise integrity and confidentiality in financial reporting
Preparing vendor reconciliation reports and processing payment cycles on time
Ensure the accuracy of an organization’s financial documents for payment, auditing, and tax purposes
Protect businesses against unintentional overpayment
Practice effective monitoring to ensure payments are made to vendors in a timely manner
Monthly and quarterly expenses review including comparison data for actual vs budgeted and current vs previous financial periods
Responsible for closing books of accounts and preparation of monthly financials.
Should be aware about all the MSME compliances and payments
Sound knowledge of GST and TDS is mandatory
Good knowledge on Import and Export process and documentation.
Properly following the internally defined guidelines/ procedures and suggesting for improving efficiencies.
Should b good at advanced excel skills and power-point presentations.
Should have an experience in book closure and preparation of monthly MIS
Knowledge of SAP is an added advantage
Minimum required qualifications
Commerce graduate
Work Experience
5 to 7 years of practical accounting experience (preferably in the service or IT sector).
