What Will You Do
The Senior Human Resources Generalist is a key resource within the organization and our HR team. In this role, you will have responsibility and ownership of core HR functions that touch all facets of the employee life cycle. You will play a key role in shaping and maintaining Scientia’s vibrant culture as you interact and support employees and managers in a meaningful and positive way. Here are some of the core areas of focus for this role:
• HR Administration: Maintain integrity and accuracy of employee records, ensuring they are consistently maintained, compliant, and secure. Update and manage employee handbooks and company policies in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Onboarding: Lead an efficient, engaging onboarding process that sets new hires up for success, including orientation programs and cultural integration initiatives. Develop metrics to assess and enhance the onboarding experience.
• Employee Relations & Support: Act as a trusted advisor for employees and management on policies, benefits, and people-related inquiries, fostering a responsive and supportive team environment. Resolve employee inquiries and issues efficiently and implement improvements to reduce recurring issues. Counsel with leaders and managers on employee relations issues and help reach appropriate resolutions.
• Benefits Administration: Manage benefits enrollment and provide guidance on benefit options to employees. Partner with benefits providers to ensure timely processing and issue resolution.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Oversee and administer leave of absence programs, including ADA accommodations, FMLA, STD, and LTD, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Complaint Investigation: Investigate employee complaints, including harassment, bullying, and discrimination, ensuring a fair and compliant resolution process.
• Unemployment: Manage unemployment claim process including unemployment hearings.
• Health and Safety: Actively participate on the safety committee and take a leading role in managing incident investigations and workers compensation.
• Data Management & Reporting: Generate and analyze HR data and metrics to guide strategic HR decisions. Provide actionable insights through reporting on key HR metrics, such as turnover rates, employee satisfaction, and compliance audits.
• Process Improvement: Proactively identify and implement process improvements across People Operations. Drive initiatives that reduce administrative workload and increase efficiency, allowing the team to focus on high-impact strategic goals.
• Employee Engagement & Development: Collaborate on employee engagement programs and events that promote a positive culture and align with company values. Develop and lead training programs.
• Other Duties: Support the strategic development and alignment of Human Resources team projects and adapt to a variety of tasks, maintaining agility in a fast-paced environment.
What You Must Have To Be Successful
• Must have a passion for people.
• At least 4 years of core HR generalist experience.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of and experience with employment laws, labor relations and practices including: FMLA, ADA, AAP, FLSA, EEOC, issue and dispute resolution, and the ability to correlate these with the operations of an organization in a meaningful way.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and resourceful thinking skills.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
• Advanced computer skills, including data entry, data processing, communication tools and payroll and human resources software.
• Ability to effectively present complex information and respond to and interact with all levels of employees.
• Strong conflict management skills, interpersonal, and facilitation.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to develop trusting relationships to gain support and achieve results at all levels of the organization.
• Experience in coaching, training, and developing employees and management.
• Ability to take the initiative to identify and anticipate client needs and recommend solutions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• PHR or SHRM certification is a plus.

Job Type: Exempt, Full-Time, On-site (this is not a hybrid role but does have flexibility to work remotely on occasion)
