The Senior Human Resources Manager is a next-level leadership role for a proven HR professional ready to expand their impact beyond a single client group or region.
This role leads and supports an experienced team of Human Resources Business Partners (HRBPs) across the state of Georgia and serves as a strategic advisor to senior and executive leadership. While prior experience directly managing HRBPs is a plus, it is not required. We are intentionally seeking candidates with a strong track record as an HR Business Partner or HR Manager who are ready to step into a broader leadership role.
Due to the geographic scope of this position, regular statewide travel is required to build relationships, support HRBPs in the field, and partner directly with leaders across Georgia.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you will operate as both a people leader and strategic HR leader, ensuring consistent, high-quality HR partnership across a diverse and geographically distributed organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, coach, and develop a team of experienced HRBPs across multiple regions statewide
Travel regularly throughout the state to support HRBPs, engage with leadership teams, and understand regional needs
Establish clear expectations, standards, and priorities for HRBP practice and delivery
Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leaders on workforce strategy, employee relations, organizational effectiveness, and culture
Act as an escalation point for complex, sensitive, and high-risk employee relations matters
Drive consistency in HR decision-making, policy application, and leader accountability across regions
Partner with HR leadership to align HR strategy with statewide operational and organizational goals
Identify trends in employee relations, engagement, and culture, and lead proactive solutions
Support and lead change management efforts related to restructures, leadership transitions, and large-scale initiatives
Collaborate closely with Talent Acquisition, L&D, Compensation, Legal, etc.
Culture & Employee Experience Leadership
This role plays a critical part in shaping employee culture at scale.
You will:
Guide HRBPs in influencing leadership behaviors that promote trust, accountability, and engagement
Ensure a consistent and fair employee experience across regions while respecting local nuances
Identify systemic cultural risks and opportunities and lead targeted interventions
Reinforce the expectation that how leaders lead is just as important as what they deliver
Required Qualifications
We are focused on readiness and demonstrated capability, not just prior titles.
Required:
Significant progressive experience as an HR Business Partner, HR Manager, or equivalent senior HR role
Demonstrated success partnering with senior leaders on complex people and organizational issues
Strong employee relations expertise, including handling sensitive, high-risk, or high-visibility cases
Proven ability to influence without formal authority and navigate competing priorities
Experience operating in complex, multi-site or matrixed organizations
Strong working knowledge of employment laws, HR policies, and best practices
Excellent communication, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
Ability and willingness to travel regularly statewide to support HRBPs and leadership teams
Preferred (Nice to Have)
Prior experience leading, mentoring, or indirectly managing HRBPs or senior HR professionals
Experience supporting statewide, regional, or geographically dispersed teams
Background in government, healthcare, education, or other regulated environments
Experience leading or supporting change management or organizational transformation initiatives
SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or similar certification
