Senior Indirect Purchasing Specialist

Location: Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu, India OBJECTIVE: To execute purchasing strategies, processes, procedures, standards, and policies for assigned commodities and suppliers, ensuring Vinfast’s sourcing process is ensuring and maintains continuity in the supply chain with focus on commercial aspects such as high quality, state-of-the-art manufacturing technology, timing and competitive costs. The role involves sourcing Indirect materials from selected suppliers, collaborating across functions, managing supplier relations and continuously improving their performance. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Lead automotive equipment and indirect purchasing activities to establish a highly cost competitive, high quality of goods/services and foster productive partnerships. • Collaborate with internal and third-party customer organizations and leaders to develop and execute sourcing plans meeting program timing, cost, quality, and local content requirements. • Develop and implement commodity and supplier strategies aligned with VinFast’s Automotive Equipment and Purchasing needs. • Work and lead with a constant sense of urgency and integrity. • Develop, plan, and manage programs to fulfill Company procurement commitments. • Manage complete procurement and contract administration functions as required to meet program commitments. • Implement and maintain a quality improvement process targeting reduction in product variation and losses, utilizing key management tools. • Collaborate with manager to set realistic and challenging operational goals and contribute to their achievement. • Supervise Staffs to fulfill procurement commitments and organize the appropriate program plans. • Evaluate vendor quotations using negotiation and procurement analysis techniques, emphasizing quality, price, delivery, and service to meet requirements. • Evaluate suppliers’ capabilities and identify appropriate items for purchase. • Develop, implement, and lead overall supplier strategy for commodity area, including simplification, ensuring sourcing process integrity, and optimize productivity, quality and fulfillment. • Cultivate long-term relationships with existing suppliers while actively seeking out and developing new potential suppliers. • Ensure supplier compliance with regulatory and reputation requirements. REQUIREMENTS • 5+ years of purchasing experience in a high-volume, complex manufacturing organization (automotive preferred). • Preferred experience in Automotive Equipment and Purchasing or Engineering. • Strong business acumen and experience. Experience in the development and implementation of business strategies. • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams effectively in achieving company goals. • Strong skills in negotiation, financial cost analysis, market analysis, continuous improvement, problem solving, time and project management. • Ability to understand and utilize technical concepts and information effectively. • Strong English language skills. • Professional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including presentation abilities. • Knowledge of materials management. • Proficient with Microsoft office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook. • Experience with the SAP system is an advantage. • Knowledge of contract law and Incoterms, international payment processes. • Capability to work globally, independently, and self-directed. • Ability to work in a fast-paced start up environment.
