Roles and Responsibilities
The role will oversee and ensure adherence to activities related to Compliance Advisory and Business Facilitation, Compliance Monitoring and testing, and implementation of circulars, Product Notes, and Business Advisories in accordance with applicable laws, regulatory requirements, policies, and procedures. This role will also establish compliance and monitoring standards, implement procedures, and ensure that the compliance programs throughout the organization are effective and efficient in identifying, preventing, detecting, and correcting non-compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• The ideal candidate should have a strong domain expertise, be capable, decisive, a self-starter, and a go-getter with a 'win-to-do' attitude.
• Experience in wholesale and retail banking loan and other product offerings with a reputable bank or financial institution is required.
• An understanding of relevant laws, regulations, their implications, and proper implementation thereof is essential.
• Experience in setting up policies and processes compliant with regulator's guidelines and standards is necessary.
• Strong internal stakeholder relationship management skills – able to influence and manage expectations.
• Strong networking skills to build and maintain a network of external (other compliance officials and in-house compliance teams of banks or financial institutions) and internal business relationships (senior management and peers).
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills, good presentation skills, and excellent negotiation skills.
• Ability to develop, grow, and nurture a highly motivated and result-oriented team. A strong desire to initiate and execute in high-paced growth environments and ever challenging demands.
