Job Description
The successful candidate will bring a strong background in network architecture, virtualization, managing infrastructure, Linux configuration management, hardware understanding, CI/CD, Ansible scripting, as well as strong collaboration, communication, and teamwork skills. You are expected to contribute your experience and skills to manage and enhance the cloud-based software solutions of Smiths Detection. The position is based in Bangalore, India.
Duties & Responsibilities
What you'll do -
Experience of network architecture
Implemented virtualization on vmware
Good knowledge of Rack and stack, network topology
Implement and manage infrastructure as code using Ansible scripts
Monitor and manage all production systems
Manage and improve CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps
Ensure platform up-time and performance
Work with Cyber Security Team to enhance platform security
Good knowledge on Active Directory
Work with development team, support team and customers to help troubleshoot platform issues to increase user satisfaction
First technical point of contact for handling customer issues, providing guidance and recommendations to increase efficiency and reduce customer incidents
Develop tooling and processes to drive and improve infrastructure support for product development
Align to the DevOps principles and tool sets being established with high degrees of automation throughout the development process. Continuous integration, continuous deployment and continuous operational monitoring are baseline goals
Driving adoption of security controls in application development as part of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
Communicate through email, presentations, informal meetings right across the organization (including senior management and executive team) to share learning, insights and plans, gathering feedback and influencing in the process
Excellent knowledge of modern platforms and tools, networking concepts using the correct product where appropriate, especially open source and open standards
Have oversight over the architecture, working with your technical leads to ensure the systems and solutions you deploy are flexible, loosely coupled and deliver performance that is appropriate for business needs
The Individual
What you'll definitely need -
Must possess at least a bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering and/or Computer Engineering/Science
Certificate preferred - CCNA or CCIE certificate is an added advantage (added)
10+ years of experience in network architecture (added)
Strong knowledge of Linux
Good knowledge of rack and stack, network topology, network diagrams, data centers
Very good knowledge of systems, network and application infrastructure design, network topology e.g., fog or edge computing, networking design, virtualization on vmware, containers and cloud native design
Good knowledge Infrastructure as Software (Container Orchestration, Observability, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes etc.)
Linux System Administration (Rocky Linux/RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu)
Knowledge & understanding of Linux IP tables & IP Routes. Sound expertise in Linux with networking. Scripting, Debugging & Troubleshooting
Sound understanding of Ethernet Bridge configuration, VLAN, NAT, etc.
Sound understanding of L7 protocols like DNS, DHCP, SSL, ARP, etc
Windows System Administration, Database maintenance (MySQL, MongoDB)
Server Hardening with Linux and Windows
Firewall administration and networking knowledge
Proxy Servers (Nginx/IIS), Virtual Networks, Subnets, Vnet Peering and VPN
Infrastructure Monitoring (Zabbix/Azure Monitor)
Vulnerability Scanning (Nessus/Azure Security Center)
Experience working with SaaS products at scale
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively meet deadlines
Excellent time management and on-call support
Should have worked in Agile software development environment
Ability to translate general market requirements and customer needs into technical requirements (or roadmaps), ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audience specially to explain economic benefits of the technical solution
Able to relate to both technical and non-technical people and to negotiate within the allowable parameters of the product to get the best outcome for the business
Effective communication and presentation abilities
Azure Administrator or Architect Certification is an added advantage
