Work Hours: 9:00am – 5:00pm
Schedule: Hybrid (Tues, Wed, Thurs, In-office, Mon & Fri work from home)
A well-established law firm, specializing in dispute resolution, bankruptcy and commercial finance, is seeking a Senior Legal Billing Specialist to join its finance team., on a direct hire. This role involves handling client invoicing, electronic billing, and supporting attorneys and staff with a variety of billing-related tasks and reporting needs.
Key Responsibilities
Timekeeping & Pre-Bill Preparation
• Review time entries and confirm accuracy prior to billing
• Monitor firm calendar for unposted time
Billing & E-Billing
• Generate client invoices using Elite/3E Cloud software
• Distribute invoices via email or e-billing systems
• Monitor e-bill submission and follow-up for the first 30 days
• Provide monthly client accruals and fee estimates
• Assist with new attorney billing system training
Client/Matter Management
• Approve new client/matter entries
• Review rate information and engagement details
• Verify retainer agreements
Reporting & Communication
• Respond promptly to emails and phone inquiries
• Create and deliver ad hoc financial reports
Qualifications & Skills
• Familiarity with legal accounting software (Elite 3E and E-Billing Hub preferred)
• Strong proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with attorneys, staff, and clients
• Flexibility to work after-hours or remotely as business needs dictate
