Job Description
This role suits a practical, experienced technician who enjoys a mix of day-to-day maintenance and longer-term project work. You’ll be actively involved in keeping vessels operating reliably through the busy season, while contributing to maintenance and refit work over winter.
What you’ll be doing:
Carrying out and supporting operational maintenance during the busy summer season
Assisting with planned maintenance and refit work over winter
Working from maintenance plans and schedules to ensure vessels are ready for service
Completing repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance to a high standard
Maintaining accurate service records and documentation
Following health & safety procedures and contributing to a safe working environment
Providing guidance and support to apprentices and other technicians when needed
Assisting other operational areas as required
Key responsibilities:
Perform mechanical and marine maintenance across the fleet
Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs
Contribute to planned maintenance and defect resolution
Support project work and vessel preparation during the off-season
What you’ll bring:
A relevant trade qualification
At least 5 years’ experience in marine, automotive, or heavy equipment maintenance
Strong practical skills with a focus on quality workmanship
A safety-conscious approach to all tasks
Good organisational and record-keeping habits
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
A full driver’s licence
