Mō te tūranga - About the role

The Senior Manager, BG&C position will play a key role in the planning and implementation of a targeted risk and control review, completing Operational and Delivery Risk assessments, and the management of risks associated with ANZ’s Wholesale Lending Origination project.

You will use your subject matter expertise to analyse information from multiple sources in order to provide actionable insights for stakeholders and manage complex projects and issues to provide benefit (or manage risk) for our customers and the bank.

Your day will be dynamic, working closely with business leaders, risk managers, subject matter experts and key stakeholders across the organisation to safeguard the company’s future. Here’s what to expect:

Model best practices to uphold the highest standards of risk and compliance.
Support the business in navigating transformation and change by leveraging expertise in Risk Management.
Drive strategic risk management leadership, ensuring business units and BG&C align to the I.AM Framework and regulatory obligations.
Build and nurture strong, transparent relationships with stakeholders, ensuring everyone aligns to risk management strategies.

To grow and be successful in the role, you will ideally bring the following:

Strong Operational Risk and Compliance experience, particularly in relation to Change Risk.
Excellent stakeholder management skills, enabling you to provide effective support to Senior Leaders.
Understanding of Non-Financial Risk Management principles, experience in report writing and proficiency in Microsoft office programs.
Excellent planning and problems solving skills, and experience managing complex problems.
Possess a growth & strategic mindset: able to anticipate and plan for change; take a long-term view of business needs for operational risk management; strive for continuous improvement and better outcomes.
Practical experience of leading through change and ability to build strong, open, and collaborative working relationships at all levels.
Strong analytical skills, able to extract key information to practical insights.
