KPMG is seeking a Senior Manager to enhance our State and Local Tax (SALT) practice.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver exceptional tax compliance services to partnerships for Asset Management clients.
• Guide multi-state companies through state and local tax issues, encompassing compliance, advisory services, planning, technology, and controversies.
• Support clients in managing state and local tax controversies by preparing for auditor discussions, representing them at hearings, and crafting appeals.
• Conduct research and write technical memoranda on state and local tax inquiries.
• Assist in business development and the management of SALT services while overseeing significant client engagements.
• Mentor and develop junior staff members and teams.
Additional Responsibilities:
• Support multi-state companies in assessing state tax considerations for business restructuring projects and intercompany transactions.
• Foster cross-functional relationships within the firm.
Qualifications:
• At least five years of recent experience in tax research and technical advice on multi-state tax issues.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Licensed CPA, EA, JD/LLM, or MTX among other approved credentials; candidates without an approved credential must obtain one within their first year of employment.
• Proven ability to develop client relationships and drive business growth.
• Strong teamwork mentality with excellent writing, communication, and tax research skills.
• Experience in Partnership and/or Asset Management is a plus.
Additional Qualifications:
• A minimum of eight years of recent experience providing tax research and advice on multi-state issues.
• Strong expertise in planning, executing client delivery, and knowledge of various state and local taxes.
