Location –Wellington Correctional Centre


Employment type – Ongoing, full-time role


Salary - $98,059 pa + Incidental Allowance + Leave Loading + Superannuation

Your role

Corrective Services Industries is currently seeking a senior trade qualified Overseer to work in the Bakery unit at the Wellington Correctional Centre. The suitable candidates for these roles must have experience in the following trades: Bakery and/or Pastry.

What you’ll do

As the Overseer, you will have excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, strong work ethics and integrity in line with CSI core values to train and supervise inmates as well as Quality control / inspection responsibilities to ensure compliance. You are also required to have sound computer knowledge, show strong resilience, and have robust time management skills.

What we’re looking for

As a standout candidate you will have:

Proven trade experience operating within a commercial bakery
Experience in process manufacturing
Ability to diagnose and problem solve
Be willing to work on early shifts.
Ability to train, motivate and supervise inmates
Ability to train, motivate and supervise staff
Willingness to work across varying trades and ability to multitask to achieve operational goals
The successful candidate will be paid to undertake Primary Training for Certificate III in Correctional Practice
Must be willing to undertake relevant training as required (paid by CSI)
Essential Requirements

Minimum requirement of current Trade Certificate in Bakery and / or Pastry
Experience in manufacturing wide range of baking products will be highly regarded
Current Certificate III in Correctional Practice or capacity to complete within specified timeframes
Current NSW Driver Licence and preparedness to drive to locations as required
General understanding of capabilities around the use of computers and electronic platforms to access relevant departmental programmes and applications
