As a technical leader in Product Security architecture at Dematic, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing security across the organization, thereby driving business success in an ever-evolving security landscape. Reporting to the Vice President of Global Product Security, you will deliver strategic and expert technical security guidance to product development, execution, sales, and support teams at Dematic. Your contributions will help define and implement a comprehensive technical strategy for security that includes next-generation software solutions, existing software products, and operational technology.
In this critical position, you will ensure the development of highly secure products and the secure operation of those systems by offering top-tier architectural guidance and maintaining a commitment to personal and organizational excellence in security. You will partner with technology leadership and engineering teams to develop and execute the vision and strategy of the Product Security organization, inspiring our global teams to enhance their security knowledge and practices.
You will be a key resource in proactively defending our systems and data from threats while ensuring that our product security meets or exceeds all regulatory standards. Your Responsibilities:
• Provide strategic technical security guidance to product development, execution, sales, and support teams globally.
• Contribute to the technical security strategy encompassing all Dematic products, including modern and operational technology solutions.
• Work with leadership to define and implement the vision and strategy for the Product Security organization.
• Advance technical and operational capabilities necessary for a robust product security strategy that earns customer trust.
• Guide and lead efforts to integrate security into every piece of Dematic's product development lifecycle.
• Perform technical security risk assessments of internally developed and third-party products and systems.
• Educate development teams on application, cloud, and product security best practices, including security automation.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with product development, management, compliance, and across the organization.
• Mentor globally distributed security engineers and security champions.
• Provide expertise in response to product security incidents.
• Stay informed on industry trends and technical developments in product and cloud security and engage with industry leaders.
• Conduct research and present relevant security technology, practices, and threats.
• Collaborate closely with security staff and product development to fortify company products and services against attacks.
• Engage with product management and customer sales/support teams to aid business development with a security focus.
• Interact directly with customers as necessary in alignment with project leadership.
Qualifications:
• 10+ years of hands-on experience in modern engineering environments, including 5 years as a hardware/software engineer and at least 5 years in a security engineer/architect role.
• Extensive experience in software development, enterprise architecture, and security engineering within public cloud frameworks such as GCP, AWS, and/or Azure.
• Proficiency in multiple programming languages, platforms, and frameworks, including Java, Python, C, C++, C#, JavaScript, TypeScript, Node, React, and Golang.
• Deep knowledge of operational technology security and relevant regulatory frameworks.
• Extensive experience with application security, operational technology security, and cloud security principles and practices.
• Thorough understanding of public cloud security models, best practices, and compliance frameworks.
• Expertise in implementing efficient zero trust security models to satisfy security and compliance needs while enabling business flexibility.
• Strong threat modeling abilities.
• Significant experience with infrastructure as code, compliance as code, container deployments, and DevSecOps environments.
• Proficient in applied cryptography methods, algorithms, and their applications.
• Experience mentoring and leading technical teams effectively.
• Proven leadership skills in complex risk environments.
• Ability to thrive in collaborative settings.
• Passionate, proactive learner committed to quality outcomes that benefit the broader organization.
• Open communicator with excellent written and verbal skills, including public speaking capabilities for diverse audiences.
• Experience presenting complex information persuasively to technical and non-technical leadership is highly valued.
• Industry conference presentation experience is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related STEM field is required, with equivalent experience considered.
• A graduate degree is advantageous.
• Technical security certifications (e.g., GIAC or Offensive Security certifications) are highly desirable, particularly in ICS, application security, and cloud security.
