We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Property Accountant to join our fast-paced finance team. This is a permanent position that offers an exceptional opportunity to grow with a market-leading company. You will play a crucial role in the financial management of our vast portfolio of properties, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and providing strategic insights to drive business growth.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Property Accountant, you will have the following responsibilities
• Oversee and manage the general ledger and ensure all transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
• Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
• Process accounts payable in a timely manner, ensuring all payments are accurate and authorized.
• Prepare and submit local, state, and federal tax filings.
• Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and other issues that should be brought to the CFO's attention.
• Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures.
• Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance with GAAP.
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
• Provide detailed analyses and explanations of all transactions.
• Prepare budget forecasts and assist in the preparation of annual budgets.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for the Senior Property Accountant position should possess the following qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in a property accountant role or similar.
• Solid understanding and proficiency in account reconciliation, general ledger, accounts payable, and tax preparation.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and other accounting best practices.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.
• Strong analytical skills with a thorough attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage large, complex projects, and meet deadlines.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven leadership skills and the ability to drive and manage change.
