The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing and preparing financial records for our commercial properties, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements. This role is integral to maintaining the financial health of our properties and providing exceptional service to our tenants and clients. The Senior Property Accountant will report to the Accounting Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

· Prepare Monthly Property Financials: Compile and analyze financial information to prepare financial statements for all properties monthly.

· Record Tenant Cash Receipts: Accurately record and apply tenant cash receipts to tenant charges.

· Review General Ledgers: Ensure accuracy and completeness of general ledgers, making necessary adjustments as required.

· Invoice Coding: Occasionally code invoices and answer questions related to invoice coding.

· Cash Needs Analysis: Analyze weekly cash needs for properties and request funding when necessary.

· Annual CAM Reconciliations: Prepare Common Area Maintenance (CAM) reconciliations for all properties and tenants annually.

· Annual Budget Preparation: Develop annual budgets for properties and estimate charges for tenants.

· Tenant Queries: Respond to tenant questions regarding billing and work with property managers to resolve all tenant inquiries.

· Financial Statement Review: Review financial statements, CAM reconciliations, and budgets for accuracy and completeness.

· Client Communication: Address client questions related to financial reports, tenants, and invoices.

· Lease Management: Enter new leases, renewals, and expansions into the system.

· Bank Reconciliations: Complete monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and consistency.

· Debt Service Calculations: Prepare monthly debt service coverage ratio calculations as needed.

· Tax Preparation: Upload all necessary information annually for tax preparation and respond to tax-related queries.

· Internal Controls Compliance: Ensure that all implemented internal controls are being followed and adhered to.

Qualifications

Education:

· Bachelor’s degree required

· Degree in Accounting preferred

Experience:

· 5 years of commercial real estate accounting or relevant experience
