We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Senior Property Accountant to join our dynamic team. This is a permanent position that offers a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, where you will play a pivotal role in the financial management of our real estate portfolio. The Senior Property Accountant will be responsible for the financial reporting, accounting, and reconciliation of a variety of real estate properties, using industry-leading software such as Yardi and CAM. This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned professional to apply their skills and experience in a challenging and rewarding role.
Responsibilities
• Oversee the financial management of a portfolio of properties, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Manage accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate payment of invoices.
• Conduct CAM reconciliations and prepare tenant billing for CAM charges.
• Utilize Yardi software for property accounting and financial reporting tasks.
• Collaborate with property managers and other stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Assist with budget preparation and financial forecasting.
• Participate in the year-end audit process, providing necessary documentation and support to auditors.
• Continually review and recommend improvements to financial processes and systems to ensure efficiency and compliance.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in property accounting or real estate accounting.
• Proficiency in financial reporting, general ledger accounting, and accounts payable.
• Strong experience with Yardi software and CAM reconciliations.
• Comprehensive understanding of real estate accounting principles and regulations.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Self-starter with a high degree of initiative, flexibility, and adaptability.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
