About Us
A proven Commercial Real Estate and Property Management Company wants to add a Senior Property Accountant/Assistant Controller to its team. The ideal candidate should have experience with commercial properties, CAM recs, and MRI.
Job Responsibilities
Oversee the financial management of our property portfolio, with a particular focus on shopping centers.
Perform CAM reconciliations and ensure all costs are recovered in accordance with lease terms.
Utilize MRI software for property accounting tasks, including financial reporting and budgeting.
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
Collaborate with property managers and other stakeholders to optimize property financial performance.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in property accounting tasks.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA designation is preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in property accounting, with specific experience in shopping center accounting.
Proficiency in CAM reconciliations, with a thorough understanding of lease terms and cost recovery processes.
Experience with MRI software, including financial reporting and budgeting modules.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with property managers and other stakeholders.
Detail-oriented mindset, with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Commitment to accuracy and integrity in all accounting tasks.
Proactive approach, with the ability to identify and implement process improvements in the property accounting function.
Willingness to provide mentorship and guidance to junior accounting staff.
