The opportunity
Reporting into the Program Services Manager, the Senior Quality Advisor provides quality leadership and assurance across construction programs and projects delivered through the Logan Water Partnership, a long‑term alliance between Logan City Council and Downer Utilities.
The role is responsible for ensuring the consistent delivery of quality outcomes across the alliance’s works program, in alignment with The Downer Standard (TDS), Delivery Governance Management (DGM), contractual obligations, and relevant statutory and industry requirements.
The Senior Quality Advisor delivers proactive governance through audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives across the full construction lifecycle. The role works closely with alliance teams, Logan City Council representatives, and subcontractors to support embedded quality practices and achieve compliant, high‑quality outcomes. Regular travel across construction sites is a core component of the role.
What you’ll do
Provide Quality leadership across all project delivery phases including design verification, construction, testing, commissioning, and handover.
Develop, review, and maintain Quality Management Plans, ITP Registers, checklists, and assurance documentation.
Review ITPs and provide feedback to project teams
Ensure project teams understand and comply with ISO 9001 and Downer Quality Management System requirements.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives based on audit outcomes, NCR trends, and construction performance data.
Facilitate lessons learned, root cause analysis, and corrective / preventive action processes.
Contribute to standardisation and uplift of construction Quality practices across the program

What we’re looking for
Trade or Tertiary qualification in Engineering/Construction or similar is desirable
Formal qualification in project management or equivalent experience is desirable.
Minimum 5 years’ experience within the Construction industry, Water Industry, Resources / Mining or Heavy Industry beneficial
Exposure and experience with project planning, execution and delivery, Continuous improvement, Driving Quality outcomes
Sound experience with client and stakeholder engagement
Strong technical, process and operations skills and knowledge.
Sound commercial acumen
Knowledge and understanding of ISO:9001 Quality Management System and relevant principles and practices
Strong understanding of Quality best practice
Competent in conflict and crisis management
Ability to work autonomously
