About Team:
The Personalization team at Walmart is dedicated to the mission of knowing our customers better and making it frictionless and faster for them to get what they want while building a trusted partnership with Walmart. We help bring a seamless experience to our customers irrespective of how and where they engage with us – whether shopping online or picking groceries at stores. We provide each customer with a journey tailored to their individual needs, preferences, and routines.
The Personalization team consists of big data geeks, application engineers, scientists, and product visionaries all working together to design, prototype, and build technology-driven products and experiences that will change the future landscape of e-commerce. We are focused on building an intelligent system that will enable 1:1 personalized customer experience, from finding the product to delivering it to the customer.
What you’ll do:
Participate in medium- to large-scale projects by reviewing project requirements, translating requirements into technical solutions, gathering requested information, writing and developing code, conducting unit testing, communicating status and issues to team members and stakeholders, collaborating with project teams, troubleshooting open issues and bug-fixes, ensuring on-time delivery, and providing leadership to the project team.
Collaborate with small groups of four to six engineers, including offshore associates, for assigned engineering projects by providing pertinent documents, direction, and examples; identifying short- and long-term solutions and timelines; and performing design and code reviews of changes.
Troubleshoot business and production issues by gathering information, engaging support teams to assist in the resolution of issues, formulating an action plan, performing actions as designated in the plan, and interpreting the results to determine further action.
What you’ll bring:
Specialization in Front end development:
JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, React, NodeJS
& Backend development:
Java, Spring, Springboot, REST, RPC
Experience with
modern unit testing frameworks (e.g., Mocha, Chai)
Experience
building Microservices
Experience working on
relational and NoSQL databases
Well versed in both
private and public cloud technologies
Deep understanding of architecture and data-driven development
Ability to work with designers to develop dynamic user experiences
A strong sense of ownership
Experience building and maintaining a production application
An ability to balance a sense of urgency with shipping high quality and pragmatic solutions
Experience working with large codebases on a cross-functional team
Experience in building large scale systems

The annual salary range for this position is $117,000.00-$234,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
Minimum Qualifications:Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
Option 2: 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
Preferred Qualifications:Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 1 year's experience in software engineering or related area. We value candidates with a background in creating inclusive digital experiences.
