Location: Must reside in the New York City area (in-office 5 days a week)

Responsibilities

Payroll Processing: Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees
Wage and Deduction Calculations: Calculate wages, benefits, tax deductions, commissions, and other payroll-related items
Record Maintenance: Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of payroll transactions
Compliance: Ensure compliance with current tax regulations and company policies
Paycheck Issuance: Process and issue employee paychecks and statements of earnings and deductions
Discrepancy Resolution: Address and resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
Reporting: Prepare and submit payroll reports to supervisors and relevant departments
Coordination with HR: Coordinate with the HR department to verify employment details and manage employee records
General Ledger Management: Manage all aspects of the general ledger, including accounts receivable and accounts payable
Financial Reporting: Prepare financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP
Account Reconciliation: Perform account reconciliations and ensure the accuracy of financial data
Audit and Analysis: Conduct audits and analyze payroll and accounting data to ensure accuracy and compliance
System Management: Manage payroll systems and suggest upgrades or improvements as needed
