Job Description
If you don’t believe you can show up consistently and reliably for a senior, please do not apply.
This role is built on trust, routine, and presence. My Senior Hearts are real people who deserve real time, real attention, and real care — not rotating faces or distracted visits.
That said, this post is not for people who struggle with reliability.
It is for the ones who have always felt out of place in traditional work environments — not because they lack responsibility, but because they care deeply, feel deeply, and lead with heart in a world that often rushes past that.
If you’ve ever felt misunderstood because you care too much, this may be where you belong.
About Heart of Chelsea
Heart of Chelsea is a relationship-centered companion care startup, intentionally built to move away from corporate caregiving models.
Each companion is thoughtfully paired with a consistent Senior Heart, allowing routine, comfort, and trust to naturally grow. We keep caseloads small so care can feel calm, human, and deeply personal — for both seniors and caregivers.
This is not high-volume, task-only care.
This is intentional companionship and senior support.
The Role
You will be assigned to one (or a small number of) Senior Heart(s) and expected to build a steady, respectful, and meaningful relationship with them.
Responsibilities include:
Providing companionship, emotional presence, and conversation
Supporting daily routines with patience and attentiveness
Assisting with transportation to appointments, errands, and outings
Light housekeeping, meal support, and organization
Taking initiative to notice needs and offer help without being asked
Showing up consistently so your Senior Heart feels safe and supported
This is active, engaged care — not passive supervision.Who This Role Is ForThis role is for someone who:
Can commit to consistent presence with their assigned Senior Heart
Values routine and understands its importance for senior well-being
Leads with empathy, patience, and emotional awareness
Is dependable, punctual, and trustworthy
Finds meaning in being helpful and supportive in everyday moments
Treats seniors with dignity, kindness, and genuine respect
Who This Role Is Not For
This role is not for:
Shift-hopping or last-minute availability only
Anyone seeking fast-paced or high-volume work
Those who view caregiving as task-only or transactional
Anyone unable to commit to consistency
This is not corporate caregiving — and it is not meant to be.
A Rare Opportunity
Think of this as a rare opportunity to build a genuine bond — even a friendship — with a Senior Heart, while being paid to show up with intention, care, and presence.
When handled thoughtfully and with respect, these relationships are deeply meaningful and often life-giving for both the senior and the companion.
