Job Summary
The Senior Tax Professional will play a crucial role in our corporate office, assisting in the preparation of U.S. Federal consolidated tax compliance and Form 5471, alongside international tax compliance, tracking foreign company earnings and profits, tax planning, and managing monthly and quarterly tax accounting.
This position is based in our Houston Corporate office with the flexibility to work remotely two (2) days a week, depending on business needs.
Responsibilities
• Prepare tax compliance documentation using Excel, SAP, and CorpTax (Forms 1120, 1065, and 5471).
• Support monthly tax accounting tasks under the guidance of the tax accounting lead utilizing Excel, SAP, and CorpTax.
• Assist with a variety of oil & gas tax matters including tax partnerships, state tax concerns, and tax depreciation and depletion.
• Demonstrate attention to detail and possess strong financial and accounting skills.
• Contribute effectively as an individual contributor.
• Ensure federal & state income tax compliance for a U.S.-based multinational company.
• Monitor and track non-U.S. previously taxed income (PTI) and earnings & profits.
• Thrive in a fast-paced environment, effectively managing multiple deadlines and tasks while working collaboratively with teams.
Licenses/Certifications
CPA preferred.
Qualifications/Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or Mathematics.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in U.S. federal & state income tax compliance or planning.
• Proficient in CorpTax or similar tax compliance software.
• Experience in Big Four or law firm settings is a plus.
The role requires adherence to all applicable safety standards. The work environment is primarily indoors, minimizing exposure to hazardous elements. Some positions may require occasional movement or transport of items weighing up to 25 lbs. Candidates must be capable of fulfilling all essential physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
Desired/Preferred Qualifications
• Master's Degree in Accounting, J.D., MBA, or a similar area of expertise.
• Experience in public accounting or a fast-paced corporate tax environment is highly preferred.
• Strong individual contributor with a proven track record of success.
• Previous experience in public accounting, corporate in-house roles, or the multinational oil and gas sector is preferred.
• Big Four experience is advantageous.
• Experience in upstream oil & gas sectors.
• Must possess strong numerical proficiency.
