What you’ll do
Prepares daily cash positioning reports and tracks liquidity across all bank accounts.
Collaborates with FP&A and accounting teams to support accurate cash flow reporting.
Develops, maintains and updates Seaspan ULC consolidated short and long-term cash flow models, annual debt budget models and rolling monthly forecasts, including presentation of treasury assumptions and validation of inputs;
Prepares and coordinates the consolidated long-term financial modelling, board reporting, and monthly forecasting processes across all Seaspan entities;
Prepares periodic cash position reports; assists in the development of the cashflow forecasting process for all Seaspan entities;
Assists the Manager, Finance and Treasury with quarterly lender reporting;
Assists the Manager, Finance and Treasury in driving standardized model and report formats and data definitions required for consolidated and divisional reporting;
Provides ad hoc analysis and modelling for business case development, as assigned;
Ensures funds are allocated efficiently to meet operational needs and identifies investment opportunities.
Assists in developing hedging models for exchange rate and interest rate risk mitigation;
Administers bank accounts, including opening/closing accounts and maintaining signatory records.
Executes and monitors electronic payments (wires, ACH, EFT) and ensures proper authorization controls.
Assists in managing relationships with banks, tracking service fees, and resolving banking issues.
Reconciles bank statements and supports month-end and year-end treasury reporting.
Documents treasury procedures and supports continuous process improvements
Performs additional duties as assigned.
What you’ll bring
Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field of study is required;
MBA, Charted Professional Accountant (CPA), Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) or Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) designation is an asset;
Minimum 5 years of financial analysis experience in a complex environment, with 3+ years of experience in treasury or banking;
Knowledge of cash management, bank operations, and FX/interest rate risk management.
Knowledge of accounting principles and financial analysis concepts, practices and procedures;
Multi-tasking, prioritization and planning abilities;
Verbal and written communications, including ability to connect with others with tact and diplomacy;
Attention to detail, critical thinking, negotiating, problem solving and analytical skills;
Results oriented, open minded, and possesses a high level of integrity;
Skilled at asking probing questions to deepen understanding of business issues;
Enjoys hands-on role and digging into the details;
Ability to build and maintain excellent relationships with all levels of organization;
Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills
Experience with data visualization tools is an asset.
Experience with ERP systems (Oracle, E1) and Treasury Management Systems (TMS) is a plus.
