Job Overview
Comer Property Management is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Service Charge Accountant to join our Property Management team. This role will be responsible for managing service charges across both residential and commercial property portfolios. For the right candidate who performs well, there is potential for the position to become permanent.
The ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, as the role involves close collaboration with colleagues and responding to a high volume of customer and supplier queries.
We are ideally seeking someone with 1–2 years’ experience in a residential property management role.
Duties
Post bank payments and allocate to service charge accounts (weekly)
Perform bank reconciliations (monthly)
Raise and issue service charge demands (twice yearly)
Chase outstanding service charge debt (twice yearly)
Charge commercial tenants for utilities, insurance, and service charges (monthly)
Process and pay supplier invoices (weekly)
Assist with budget reviews with residents (twice yearly)
Raise sales invoices (monthly)
Qualifications
Proven experience as an Accountant or in a similar role within the financial services sector
Proficiency in accounting software such as NetSuite System or equivalent systems
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, is essential.
Strong understanding of financial management principles and practices
Experience with financial reporting, accounts payable, and general ledger management
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
Ability to mentor colleagues and work collaboratively within a team
Relevant qualifications such as AAT, ACCA, CIMA, or ACA are preferred but not essential
